Analox is breaking into new markets after the first Ax60 carbon dioxide detector was installed in McDonalds in China.
Analox have a global agreement with McDonalds to distribute Ax60’s to their restaurants all over the world, and the very first unit in China was installed in a McDonalds in Gungzhou City in November 2015.
There are almost 1800 McDonalds in China serving the same fast food that is also eaten in the UK, but as well as the more traditional burgers, they have some more unusual items on the menu including a taro (starchy root vegetable) pie and black sesame soy bean milk.
Bonny Food Services are our distributor for the Ax60, and this is our first deal with them. The company was established in the mid 1980’s and specialises in providing solutions for food operations. This includes distributing reputable and renowned food service equipment from key manufacturers in USA and Europe.
The Ax60 is a wall mountable carbon dioxide (CO2) detector specifically designed for the hospitality and beverage industry, such as fast food restaurants and pub cellars, to continuously monitor CO2 levels in areas vulnerable to potential exposure. The system incorporates visual strobes and audible alarms that are set to immediately trigger if the Ax60 detects a level of CO2 beyond pre-defined limits, thereby alerting both management and crew to any leak of CO2 gas.
CO2 is an essential gas used in the fast food industry to put the fizz in the soft drinks that we consume with our meals. However exposure to elevated levels of CO2 is enough to render a person unconscious and can be fatal, so CO2 monitoring is needed in order to ensure that if there is a CO2 leak, action can be taken and life can be safeguarded.
The unit in China is currently being trialled at the store and if it is successful, there is a potential for it to be installed in any new builds or refurb sites.
Further research into the labs, medical and food and beverage sector is to be carried out to help identify the best routes to break into the Chinese market and provide our products to even more distributors.
