Members of the Analox team were at this year’s National Restaurant Association (NRA) exhibition in Chicago.
An estimated 42,000 buyers from 110 different countries were in attendance, with many of them visiting our booth during the event.
The show ran from Saturday 21 May – Tuesday 24 May, and was hosted at McCormick Place, Chicago.
The annual event is the largest gathering of restaurant, foodservice and lodging professionals, and provides an opportunity for hospitality industry professionals to meet face-to-face and discuss their requirements across the full range of products and services utilised within the beverage and hospitality industry.
CO2 is widely used and found in breweries, walk-in coolers, restaurants, bars, wineries and many other industries, so the event was an ideal platform for us to showcase our robust and economical gas detection solutions.
Standards around the world, including NFPA 55, NBIC, EH40, OSHA and TUV, mandate that employees and members of the public are not exposed to potentially dangerous levels of CO2.
To meet this requirement, Analox developed the Ax60, a wall mountable CO2 detector which allows multiple placement of alarm and sensor units which are connected to a central display. It continuously monitors the ambient air and triggers one or more alarms if it detects a potentially hazardous level of CO2 in the building’s atmosphere.
Each alarm unit not only has an audible sounder but also utilises a high-intensity LED strobe light which is perfect for warning of danger in noisy environments.
For food establishments, who may not have the space for an Ax60, a smaller version has been created called the Ax60k.
The Ax60k is a much more compact gas solution, consisting of one sensor and one alarm, providing the safety and security of the Ax60 but in a much smaller, more economical package.
As well as showcasing our products at our booth, we were also celebrating our new innovative app. The Analox app has been devised to assist distributors in finding the correct gas monitor for their, or a customer’s, specific needs. The easy to navigate app, guides users through simple questions, finally leading them to a product. If the user selects options which can’t be identified as one of our products, then an information screen with our contact details is provided.
Lauren Bennett, Graduate Graphic Designer, said: “The NRA show was a great opportunity for us to showcase our products and promote our new app. To demonstrate the accuracy of our gas monitors, we even used our Ax60k to measure the level of CO2 in the air at the show. It was interesting to see an increase in concentration of CO2 when the show got busier. On one of the mornings we measured it at 500ppm and by the afternoon this had risen to 1100ppm purely because of the amount of people generating CO2 at the show.”
We’re proud to announce the winner of our Analox App competition – well done Howard Silverman who wins $100 of Amazon vouchers! Here he is posing with Betsey from the US sales team.
