Here at Analox we understand that times are tough in the commercial diving industry due to the downturn in the oil and gas sector.
This has resulted in cuts being made across oil and gas organisations, and those involved in commercial diving are feeling under pressure to reduce their costs by using the bare minimum in terms of resources such as team size and equipment.
We acknowledge that some cost cutting is required in order to withstand this tough situation, but cheap doesn’t always mean cheerful, as the quality and reliability of equipment can be compromised if you choose it based on price rather than product specification.
Classification and industry guidelines stipulate the use of gas monitoring in diving systems to maintain the safety of those occupying it.
This includes the IMCA D023 DESIGN for Surface Orientated (Air) Diving Systems which requires that both oxygen (O2) monitoring and carbon dioxide (CO2) detection are incorporated into surface-supplied diving systems, and that they provide audio/visual alarms.
To meet these requirements we provide a range of cost effective gas monitoring solutions that do not compromise on quality and are IMCA compliant.
The ADM Aspida – meeting your commercial diving needs
The ADM Aspida is an affordable oxygen analyser which continuously measures O2 with the option to add CO2 monitoring so you can cover all bases of the outlined IMCA guidelines.
The ADM Aspida has alarm set points of 18%, 19.5% and 23% for O2, to warn of any rise in O2 levels outside pre-set parameters due to a gas leakage, as this poses a fire risk, as well as alarming when there is a depletion of O2 as this causes a risk to health.
The normal level of CO2 in the atmosphere is only 0.04% so an increase of only a few percent can cause several physiological effects such as reduced hearing, deeper breathing and headaches.
The default alarm set points for the CO2 option are 0.5%, 1.5% and 4% to provide early warning of rising CO2 levels.
The ADM Aspida is designed to be panel-mounted on your chamber panel or in dive control and can be used to analyse air quality from a deck decompression chamber when provided with a sample line from this diving chamber.
As well as the ADM Aspida, we also offer other IMCA compliant gas monitors that require minimal maintenance and are used in hundreds of surface supplied diving systems globally.
