O2NE + oxygen depletion monitor
Find out more about our O2NE+ oxygen depletion monitor at Analytica China

Analox say Nǐ hǎo to Analytica China

Analox Sensor Technology (AST) will be a part of one of the largest international laboratory exhibitions, being held in Shanghai, China, from 10th-12th October.

The exhibition is expected to see more than 18,000 visitors through the doors, from across an estimated 60 countries, eager to see new innovations within laboratory technology, analysis, biotechnology and diagnostics.

AST will be exhibiting at Analytica China on stand number 2739 with demonstrations of our Ax60 CO2 monitor and our oxygen depletion monitor O2NE+, perfect for any facilities using inert gases such as argon, nitrogen and helium.

Our team will also be discussing our upgraded version of the Ax60, the AX60+ (plus is more!) which will be available from next year.

The Ax60+ – our new multiple gas monitor

The Ax60+ offers the additional functionality of a modular O2 sensor which provides an early warning of both oxygen depletion and oxygen enrichment. The CO2 and O2 sensors are interchangeable and can be fully integrated as part of a multi-point, multi-gas detection and alarm system.

Safety regulations concerning the use and storage of gas are becoming more frequently implemented as a result of the increasing number of incidents involving gas in confined spaces.

Just recently in Italy, new guidelines were sanctioned by the Italian National Transplant Centre, which is a technical body of the Ministry of Health, chaired by the President of the Italian National Institute of Health. The guidelines apply to the storage of nitrogen in both a liquid and gaseous state for medical purposes such as maintaining biological samples at a cryogenic temperature.

The regulations state that a room containing nitrogen must have sensors that continuously monitor the concentration of oxygen inside the room highlighting the dangers just a small decrease in oxygen levels can have. A drop of just 2% in the O2 levels can be harmful to the human body, causing headaches and drowsiness, reducing the ability to work effectively.

Why China?

China is regarded as Asia’s most important sales market for producers of medical and analysis technology, biotechnology and laboratory technology. These sectors are predicted to continue to grow due to factors including an aging population, increasing healthcare standards and greater awareness when it comes to quality.

The market for analysis instruments, helping end users adhere to new and more stringent safety regulations, in particular, demand for quality-control solutions in the food sector, is becoming an important and well debated topic.

According to Analytica’s reports, suppliers in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors also have outstanding market opportunities.

The Chinese pharmaceutical industry continues to develop at an impressive rate, according to the China Pharmaceutical Industry Association. The industry’s production value increased by 20.2 percent in 2013 to just less than 2.3 trillion yuan- impressive!
