Analox heads to Malaysia for Gasworld’s 4th conference in the region!

Gasworld is the leading global industrial gas information provider. This year, they hosted the Gasworld Asian-Pacific 2018 Conference, their 4th event held in the region. The conference took place at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel on the 3rd-5th December.

Two members of our Analox team, Mel Smith AST Marketing Manager and Becca Dodds Business Development Manager, attended the event to discuss industrial gas safety, understand the current uses for helium and its future and what trends are emerging across the gas industry.

A total of more than 300 delegates attended the event from 27 different countries. The three-day conference featured a range of speeches from experts within the industry and the opportunity for 39 promotional booths, with Analox at booth 34.

The event began on the 3rd December welcoming delegates and visitors with a great opening speech delivered by John Raquet, Gasworld’s CEO and Publisher. Day two kicked off with a very exciting schedule, starting with an introductory talk from John Raquet followed by a panel session with Edgar Hotgard exploring industrial gas business models.

The team particularly enjoyed the talk on day three from Milan Sarka Secretary general of AIGA, Asia Industrial Gases Association which helps to lobby for more regulations and legislation on gas safety requirements. As an organization they’re looking forward to try and harmonize the standards across the world so everyone adheres to the same safety standards, including working with EIGA in Europe CGa in US and Canada and JIMGA in Japan.

Gasworld thumbs up

A particularly interesting part to the conference was a discussion with a speaker from the FBI, SSA Vincent Lucero, he told the team to be vigilant when selling items such as ours due to the increasing terror threat; it is important to know your customer.

Day three had an interesting start where digitalisation in the gas industry was considered, it seemed that e-commerce was a big focus throughout the conference due to an increasing trend of people going online to purchase their gas and accessories and expecting an omni-channel offering.

Our team spent the end of the conference at their promotional booth discussing gas safety requirements with some interesting people, including Mack Valves and Chart industries. On display we had our CO2 and O2 gas detector, Ax60+ with data output module and CO2 and O2 sensors, as well as an O2NE+ oxygen depletion monitor so that we could showcase and demonstrate how easy it is to achieve safety and compliance for their business.

The Analox team members have had a very productive time at the Gasworld Asia-Pacific 2018 conference and look forward to attending Gasworld’s CO2 summit conference in March next year.

Mel Smith, AST Marketing Manager, said: “This year’s Gasworld Asia proved to be an interesting mix of emerging technologies in the automated gas delivery world, international security, emerging customer trends and plenty of discussions and debates. It’s a really great environment to network with those across all elements of the industry, who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in their field.

We met several companies who we can certainly work with to enhance their current product offering to ensure their customers are working in a safe environment and are adhering to gas safety regulations.

The event was ran extremely well by the team at Gasworld and we’re already looking forward to exhibiting at their CO2 Summit in Austria in March next year.”
