2020 has already been successful for a team of Analox staff who are now qualified First Aiders. A group of staff attended a 3 day First Aid Training Course at Tees Safety Training Ltd.
The course was a combination of Level 3 First Aid at Work and Level 3 Pediatric First Aid with 3 extended days of classroom learning.
The 3 days training did not just involve a tutor talking to the team, there was a lot of role-playing involved too! As you can imagine it got gruesome with the team acting out many different scenarios including one guy chopping his hand off cutting wood in his workshop!
The team covered a range of topics needed to provide effective first aid for adults, children and infants including CPR and defibrillation, choking, stroke, head injuries, asthma and much more. Kayleigh Martin, Account Manager attended the 3 days training said ‘When the opportunity came to volunteer to attend this training course I jumped at the chance. I was actually thinking of doing this course in my own time after a situation at home where I had to deal with my niece choking! You just never know when you are going to be put in these situations and if you know how to deal with it. I think First Aid is such a crucial skill to have both in the workplace and at home and I am grateful for the opportunity to go on this course.’
