Cryotherapy - Spas and Recovery
Cryotherapy is used in spas, hotels and athletic training facilities. Cryotherapy and cryobaths uses liquid nitrogen (LN2) to treat a variety of benign and malignant tissue damage. The N2 can be applied locally to an area of the skin or used in a chamber to treat the whole body.
Whole body cryotherapy involves exposing individuals to low temperatures for two to four minutes to help decrease cell growth and reproduction, decrease pain and spasm, increase cellular survival, and decrease inflammation.
An increase in N2 in the atmosphere will displace oxygen (O2), so if you offer cryotherapy you need to consider installing oxygen depletion monitors such as the O2NE+ to help keep people safe.
